About Me

I am a dance practitioner, located on the South Coast who combines anatomical, physiological, psychological and research knowledge with an embodied artistry of contemporary dance.

I believe dance can be a safe space for all people to safely and effectively explore their creativity, sense of self and the capabilities of their performing bodies. When teaching I provide an environment that prioritises learner enjoyment, in order to facilitate continued participation in dance, and promote positive, non-competitive relationships with others.

Training:

Having graduated from The University of Chichester with a 1st Class Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Dance Science (Health & Wellbeing), and currently studying Master of Arts Dance: Advanced practice, I have a deep understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of dance and research.

I have been a company dancer in HIVE Dance Collective (2021-2022) and Hampshire Youth Dance Company (2017-2018).

Dance Style:

I am a versatile dancer, who is always keen to explore new styles. Although my main focus is in contemporary dance, I have a strong background in ballet and modern dance. Although I also have experience in tap, commercial and jazz.

As a contemporary dancer who has high energy and strong dynamics, I passionately travel through space and into and out of the floor. Response to musical stimulus is often my catalyst for movement material, and I enjoy experimenting with different accompaniments.

Areas of Interest:

  • Motivational psychology within the dance studio and how teachers can nurture dancer motivation.
